The Texas State University Libraries is a congressionally designated depository for U.S. Government documents. The government documents collection is available to Texas State University researchers, as well as the local community, as guaranteed by public law (Title 44 United States Code).
The University Libraries is a selective depository with a variety of federal and state documents. The Government Information collection includes approximately 1.4 million Federal and Texas documents, with a large collection of topographic maps. Government Documents are excellent primary resources for researchers.
Government documents from the federal government are located in the Alkek Library on the third floor, in the fourth floor compact shelving, and at the Archives and Research Center (ARC). Documents on the fourth floor are in the process of being moved to the ARC.
